Gaelic Games, Soccer, Rugby, Handball, Boxing and Cycling make up today’s Roscommon Sport Weekend Preview.

Gaelic Games

The Club scene is the back in focus this weekend and there’s action in the top three Divisions of the Adult Football Leagues. Fixtures here

Soccer

The action continues in the Roscommon and District Football League and Cup and Roscommon and District Football League side Ballinasloe town feature in the Connacht Cup Semi-Final. Full details here

Rugby

Buccanners take on Shannon in the final round game of the Ulster Bank All-Ireland League knowing a win will confirm their place in the play-offs. Shannon have lost the last five games in a row but hold home advantage for this big games. Kick-off is at 2:30pm.

At 7:15pm Connacht host Munster in a crucial PRO12 game as they bid to close the gap on Table Toppers Leinster. Roscommon town’s Denis Buckley continues in the number 1 Jersey and Kiltoom’s Jack Carty returns for a 10 week injury absence to take his place on the bench. On Sunday Creggs Under 15’s travel to Oughterard for the Semi-Final of the Connacht Plate. Kick-off is 12pm.

Handball

Thomas O’Brien of St Comans features in the last 16 of the All-Ireland 40×20 Boys 13 and Under B Championship at 2:30pm in Moycullen. At the same time, in St Marys College, Galway City Fionn Cusack competes in the Quarter-Final of the All-Ireland 40×20 Boys 15 and Under B Championship and at 3:30pm in Moycullen Fiona Tully of St Comans features in the Quarter-Final of the All-Ireland 40×20 Girls 17 and Under Championship.
At 3:45pm Irslam Yakhyaev and Evan Corrigan take part in the Group 4 of the Boys Under 11 competition.

Boxing

The Boy 4 and Youth 1 & 2 Connaught Boxing Championships continue today.
Timothy Fiztmaurice of Loughglynn features in the Quarter Final of the Boy 4 42kg Division this morning and Dean Darcy of Ballaghaderreen features in the Semi-Final of the 80kg Youth 2 Division after 5pm.

Cycling

Daire Feeley and Team iTap are in Northumberland this weekend, competing in the Tour on the Reservoir
