Maria Dignam, a pupil of Glanduff NS has been announced as the Connaught-Ulster Regional winner of the An Taisce Green-Schools Irish Water Poster Competition.
Maria won the 3rd-6th class category for her poster, which is shown above. She faced strong competition from students in Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Cavan, Monaghan, Galway City and County, Mayo as well as Roscommon and as won a tablet computer valued at €250 for her efforts.
A spokesperson for Green-Schools Irish said “We are thrilled to announce the winners of this year’s Green-Schools Irish Water Poster Competition. This year we received in excess of 2,500 entries to the competition so narrowing them down to 12 winners was not an easy task!” They thanked everyone who entered and said that they hope the poster produced helped to raise awareness in the school about water and being #WaterSmart
