St Dominics 50-50 Draw

The Club congratulates Dave Finneran who won €1,059 in the Club’s weekly draw on Saturday 2nd April. 50/50 draw next week, Saturday 8th April will be in Ned’s, Knockcroghery. Senior Football

The Division 4 game against St Barrys in Termonbarry was postponed due to the conditions on Sunday morning. Our next match in the O’Gara Cup is against Fuerty on Sunday 17th April in Fuerty.

Senior Hurling

Training for our senior hurlers takes place on Saturday evenings at 7pm. Everyone is asked to attend. All newcomers welcome.

Ladies Football

Roscommon Ladies u14 County team played Leitrim in the first round of the Connacht Championship, St Dominic’s are represented by Chloe McDonnell. They won on a scoreline of 5-11(26) to 1-06(09) well done all.
St Dominic’s U16 Championship Round 5 is due to take place on Sunday 10th April away to Shannon Gaels at 4pm this is subject to change. Our Roscommon Leisure Zone sponsored junior team turned out in great numbers on Thursday evening last in a challenge game away to St Faithleach’s. It was a great performance by all and one we can build on it in the future. Despite missing several key players the ladies enjoyed a good win. Details of training will to be sent out by text. The next game in our 9 a Side league is due to take place next Sunday the 10th of April at 12 noon at home to St Faithleach’s.

Camogie

Senior: The senior team had their first outing of the year on Saturday 2nd April on a wet and windy day in Knockcroghery. The league game against Kilimor was a competitive affair with the conditions making good camogie difficult for both sides. Good points from play by Susan Spillane and Aisling Dolan saw Dominics ahead at half time on a score line of 0-5 to 1-1. The second half followed a similar pattern until goals by Susan Spillane and Caoilfhionn Cox put the home side in the driving seat. St Dominics went on to win on a scoreline of 2-11 to 1-2. This victory was built on a solid defensive display and some good score taking in the forward division. Panel on the day was: C. Connaughton, R Roddy, E McNally, S Beirne, R Dolan, J Beattie, R Corcoran, C Dowling, N Watson, A Dolan, S Spillane, S Carney, Z Feeley, C Cox, E Carney, A O’Meara, C Miley, M McLoughlin. Training continues for the Junior/Senior team on Tuesday evening at 8pm in St Johns FC Astroturf pitch and Saturday morning at 10am at the pitch.

U14: St Dominic’s U14 camogie team are due to play Padraig Pearses in Woodmount this Tuesday the 5th April. Confirmed details will be sent via text.

Beginners, U8s and U10s: Camogie for is back for beginners, Under 8 and Under 10. Beginners and U8 – which are those girls born in 2008, 2009 and 2010 – will start at 6.30pm on Thursday 7th April in St John’s Community Centre. Minor Hurling

St Dominic’s u14 hurlers played Round 4 in the championship away to Athleague/ Tremane on Sunday morning last with the conditions were heavy underfoot. The lads lost on a scoreline of 2-10 to 4-01. They played well in the second half and showed great spirit to close the gap to just three points. Next match takes place against Roscommon Gaels at Lisnamult on the 16th of April, details of training will be sent out by text.
