A 40 year old man has died following a two car crash on the N61 between Roscommon town and Ballymurray last night.

The incident occurred at Carrowmore at approximately 11:20pm. The man, who was the sole occupant of the car, was taken to Portiuncula Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The occupants of the second car, a 44-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl, were taken to Tullamore General Hospital where their injuries are described as non-life threatening
The road has now been re-opened following a forensic examination by Gardaí.
