The Enterprise Hub in Castlerea is the venue for the show piece weekend of the Shannonside Basketball League Season – Top 4 weekend.
Basketball fans from across the region will descend to Castlerea for what promises to be an exciting weekend. There will be plenty of local intertest with two teams from Castlerea and the Western Warriors all involved. The action begins on Friday evening, in the Ladies Top 4 Cup Semi-Final, where local side Castlerea Cosmos who take on the reigning League Champions Longford Torpedoes at 7pm. This is the Cosmos’ first time reaching the Top 4 Weekend and they face a tough challenge against a strong Torpedoes team but they will fancy themselves to cause an upset after a strong finish to the season
The highlight on Saturday will be in the second Mens Top 4 Cup Semi-Final when Castlerea Kings take on the Donegal Town Nets. Having won a game each in their regular season meetings both sides will be confident of clinching a place in Sunday’s Final. Match-ups between the two sides are always absorbing contests and this should be no different.
Sunday is Finals day and it rounded off by the meeting of Western Warriors and Drumlish Dragons in the Ladies Shield Final at 7:30pm
Anyone who can is encouraged to head to the Hub and lend the local teams your support which, as always, will be greatly appreciated and could make a big difference in the end.
