Our Annual Club Lotto memberships are due for renewal at the end of March so each member by now should have received their renewal packs in the past week so we would hope for each and every member’s continued support for the coming year. It is the main income generator on an annual basis for our club and we believe its a good value membership that gets you 3 chances to win each and every week. Your local lotto club rep will be calling to each member over the next couple of weeks to discuss further.

Training continues next Saturday morning in Ballinagare Astroturf between 10.30 and 11.45am.
U 8 Boys & Girls:
Training continues next Saturday morning in Ballinagare Hall between 10.30 and 11.45am.
All new families are welcome to attend and its a great way of getting kids out for some fun and games and learning new skills of the game.

Registration
Registration for the 2016 year is now falling due as the teams begin training and their matches over the next couple of weeks. At the recent AGM the fees were agreed for the 2016 and they remain the same as set during 2015.
Adult Players (Over 18’s) Ladies and Men: €100
Families: €100
Non Playing Adult Members: €50
Registration night will be held next friday evening between 8.30-10pm in the clubhouse. Its very important that all players are registered before they play any football as they are not covered under the player injury scheme until their registration is paid up. Please make a conscious effort to get your membership paid to James Ryan or your team manager so that you have full cover while playing with Western Gaels.

Western Gaels has a full range of club merchandise available (Polo Tops, jerseys, togs, socks, hoodies, beanie hats, gear bags etc etc) for the new football season which kicks of in a few weeks time. Men’s Football
Junior Team
The Junior team recorded a good win in their opening game of the Div 3 league against Castlerea in Frenchpark on Saturday afternoon last. Western Gaels made a bright start to the game and built up a strong lead with some fine points by Niall Higgins and John Duffy and a goal from the penalty spot from Niall Higgins ensured we led by 6 at the interval 1-09 to 1-03. Castlerea to their credit battled right through the 2nd half and there was only a point between the teams with 10 minutes left but points from Niall Higgins, Sean Carroll and Conor Casserley made the points safe on a final scoreline of 1-14 to 2-07.

Ladies Football:
U-16 Ladies Team:
The U-16 ladies began this year’s championship campaign on Sunday last when they welcomed Roscommon Gaels to Frenchpark. Roscommon Gaels had the upper hand in the opening half and lead at the break. Western Gaels started well in the second period and fought back to level the game going into the closing stages, a late point from Roscommon Gaels secured the points for the visitors.
Final score Western Gaels 2-05, Roscommon Gaels 2-05. The girls travel to Kilglass next Sunday for round two, check fixtures for confirmed details.

Roscommon County Teams:
Well done to both our Men’s and Ladies county teams on their respective league wins against Down and Fermanagh. Our club was well represneted with Siobhan Greevy, Martina Freyne and Jennifer Higgins with the ladies and Sean MacDermott and Cathakl Cregg with the mens.
