Kilbride GAA News February 15th

Kilbride 1-5 Fuerty 0-9

Kilbride lost by a single point to a spirited Fuerty team in their opening Division 2 league match which was played in Kilbride.
Fergal Tully opened the scoring with a well taken point. Gary Fallon was was in fine form in the Fuerty goal thwarting the efforts of Tully, Walsh and Feeney. Fuerty however scored six points without reply before Devanney scored his first point of the day in the 26th minute. Kilbride got the lift they needed on the stroke of half time when a high Tom O’Grady ball into the square was fisted to the net by Fergal Tullly to leave just one point in it.
A Fuerty free early in the second half was cancelled out by a Walsh point. Two points from Devanney in the 45th and 54th minutes left it all square. Fuerty scored what was the winning point in the 56th minute. Darren Clabby made a welcome return as a second half substitute having missed all last season due to a serious injury.
Final score: Kilbride 1-05 Fuerty 0-09. Kilbride travel to Tulsk next Sunday for round two of the league.
