Michael Glaveys 0-7 Clann na nGael B 0-6
Our senior team had an early start as they travelled to Johnstown on Sunday morning as a newly promoted team to the O’Gara Cup. Clann who were playing with the wind in the first half were the first team on the scoreboard and after 15 mins the scoreboard read 0-1 to 0-0 to the home side. Glaveys soon responded despite many handling errors and the scoreboard read at half time 0-4 to 0-2 to the visitors. With Glaveys down to 14 men for the entire second half they faced an uphill battle. With Captain Shane O’Malley leading by example it was a case of both defences on top leading to a low scoring half. It ended in a tight match with Clann battling hard but Glaveys edged it winning by 1 point. The final score read Michael Glaveys 0-7 to Clann na Gael B 0-6. Best for Glaveys were Shane O’Malley, Neil Morris, Caoileann Fitzmaurice and James Brennan.
