There was a full clearance of Dry Cows at last night’s sale in Elphin Mart with average prices of €1,153 achieved
Prices ranging from €755 to €1,585 for a Charolais Cow weighing 820kg.
In-Calf heifers
There was a very small entry of In-Calf heifers this week with average price of €1,170.
Weanlings
A lively Weanlings trade saw 85% of stock sold. The average price for Weanlings under 300kg was €772 with a maximum price of €805 for a 245kg. The average price for Weanlings weighing from 301kg to 400kg was €939 with a maximum price of €980 achieved for a 400kg Weanling. Weanlings between 401kg and 500kg averaged €1,174 with a maximum price of €1,323 was achieved for a 490kg Belgian Blue Weanling.
Sheep
Sheep numbers were smaller although there was a 98% clearance rate again this week. Lambs weighing 55Kg made €118.50, Lambs weighing 45.5Kg made €105 while Lambs in the region of 42kg made €100. Culled ewes ranged from €54 to €122 and the small number of Breeding Ewes sold made from €120 to €205.
