Strokestown beat Glenlo Abbey in the first round of the 9 Hole Inter Club competition on Monday 17th April. 4 single matches were played at home with 3 Foursomes matches played in Glenlo. The team of Martin Kelly, Ronan Cullen, Pat Connellan, Martin Crinnegan, Gerry King, Coman Neary, Paddy Murray, Jonathan Cassidy, Gerry Houlihan and Tony Patton are captained by John Compton. The next round will be played on Monday May 01st against Ballaghadreen.
This weekend the 22nd & 23rd April the men play in the Caslin Cup Qualifier. This is an 18 Hole Stroke competition with the top 16 going through to the knock-out stage.
The Strokestown Golf Club Ladies Easter Bunny competition finished on Sunday and the winner of this 9 hole was Anne Neary.
The ladies 18 hole competition was won by Anne Neary with Eileen Lyons in 2nd place.
The Strokestown Golf Club Spring League is proving very popular with all participants. Teams are currently playing Round 3 and this must be played by 30th April.
