Roscommon students acknowledged at Doodle 4 Google finale

Two Roscommon students were among 75 regional finalists who were acknowledged at the 2017 Doodle 4 Google finale in Google’s EMEA Headquarters in Dublin, yesterday.

Doodle 4 Google is an annual competition which offers student the chance to see their art appear on the Google.ie search page. For this year’s Doodle 4 Google competition students were asked to design a Doodle based on the theme of “If I could create anything it would be…”

Describing her design Zuzanna said “My invention is a weather machine, so people could use it to change the weather. It can produce snow, sun, wind and rain.”

Describing her design Katie said “I would create a world where people would be free of illness and disaibility. They would be free of suffering and pain. They would no longer be subjected to painful medications or have to use equipment. They would not be treated differently and everyone in this world will be equal.”

Six year old Erica Redmond from Dublin was named the overall winner and her winning doodle will go live on google.ie this Friday, April 7th to millions of users on the Google Ireland homepage.
