Mid-Western Girls Soccer League Results Round-up
In the Geraghty Travel Under 14 league, Strokestown United had a narrow 1-0 win over Kilkerrin United thanks to Sarah Kavanagh’s goal. CP Ajax had a 6-1 win over Dunmore Town. Edel Beirne (2), Aisling Kelly (2), Nikita Hussey & Fiona Kilkenny were all on target for CP Ajax while Emma Kelly scored the Dunmore goal. Shiven Rovers were 2-0 winners against Glen Celtic with Abigail Boyle scoring both goals.
In the M2 Sport Under 10 League Shiven Rovers and Kilkerrin United played an intense game on Monday last. CP Ajax & Glen Celtic played out a high-scoring encounter while there were noteworthy performances from Leigha Hamilton & Ava McGreal in the Ballagaderreen FC v Castlerea Celtic game.
In the Westward Scania Under 12 League, Castlerea Celtic Tigers played Castlerea Celtic Lions in a high scoring game on Saturday. The Tigers hat-trick hero was Amy Doory while Abi Flanagan (2), Áine Brennan (2) & Lyanu Wilson were all on target. Castlerea Celtic Lions gave a good account of themselves and were rewarded with goals from Clodagh Diggins (2) & Kelis Curran. Dunmore Town lost out to Kilkerrin United despite Katie Glynn’s goal. Strokestown United continued their recent good form with a 10-4 win over CP Ajax. Tegan Gibbons, Clodagh Rogers, Shauna Tiernan and Leane Gibbons were all on targetfor Strokestown while Aisling Hanley and Regina Kelly replied for CP Ajax.
Five clubs took part in the U8 Blitz in Castleplunkett on Saturday July 23rd. Well done to all involved and thanks to CP Ajax for hosting the event. The next U8 blitz is provisionally fixed for Saturday August 20th in Glenamaddy.
