Play for Paul Charity Match:

A Charity match is been held in honour of the late Paul Higgins who passed away on the 19th April last after along battle with illness. The charity match is been held this Sunday June 4th at 3pm in Nash Park, Frenchpark. The match will have selected members of Over 30’s and Under 30’s lads on the day, under age team playing at half time and also entertainment for all the family on the day. Proceeds in aid of Mater Misericordiae Oncology Ward. A follow up after-party and monster raffle (tickets sold in local shops and also on the day) will be held in The Chariot Bar in Frenchpark starting approx 9pm. Your support would be greatly appreciated for this very worthy cause.

Western Gaels Summer Camp:

The club’s Multi Activity sports camp takes place from Monday 17th July-Friday 21st July next at the club grounds in Frenchpark. Following on from last years brilliantly organised camp the aim for this year is to be even better with more fun activities added to the daily list. Prices are as follows: 1 Child = €55/week; 2 Children = €85/week; 3 Children = €110/week or €20 per child per day attended.

Men’s Football:

Intermediate Team:
The Intermediate team commenced their Junior A Championship campaign with an excellent win over Kilglass Gaels in Enfield on Sunday afternoon last. Played in beautiful warm conditions Western Gaels were stronger all through and an excellent team goal finished to the net by Brian Casserley ensured a half time lead of 1-07 to 0-03. Kilglass Gaels did close the gap to 5 mid way through the 2nd half but the game was over as a contest with just under 10 mins remaining when Eamon Ryan blasted to the net to round off a personal tally of 1-03 for the day and ensure the points for Western Gaels on a final scoreline Western Gaels 2-13 to Kilglass Gaels 1-06.

U-12 Team:
The Pat Lavin & Son Agri Contractors sponsored U-12 team played Kilbride in the final round of the division 2 spring league, Kilbride were the stronger and secured the win, both teams will meet again in the division 2 spring league final. Final date to be confirmed. The division 6 team have also qualified for the knock out stages of the division 6 league. The fixtures for the knockout stage will be finalized in the coming weeks.

Ladies Football:

The U-12 girls had a busy week, they lost to Ballinameen on Thursday evening. On Sunday evening they travelled to Tuslk to play St. Marys, the game was tight throughout but a good team performance from the girls ensured they secured a one point win. The girls play Kilglass Gaels on Thursday evening. Check fixtures for confirmed details.
