Senator Frank Feighan is highlighting the job opportunities which will be on offer to local companies at an event to be held next week in Ballymahon by one of the main contractors on the Centre Parcs development.

“Limerick-based Roadbridge Civil Engineering & Building Contractors is the contractor carrying out the infrastructural work on this €233m holiday complex development and they are now seeking the services of sub-contractors, suppliers and related personnel.

“To that end, Roadbridge is holding an event in Cooney’s Hotel, Ballymahon on Tuesday next, May 16th from 5 to 9pm. Company representatives will be in attendance to outline the commercial opportunities available to local companies.

“This is a great opportunity for local firms to express an interest in working on this major project. The Roadbridge company has said that 60% of its work on site will be sub-contracted, so clearly there are lots of opportunities for many people living in this region.

“Center Parcs is a €233m development which will see the construction of a forest holiday village with a capacity for up to 2,500 guests. It’s estimated that 750 jobs will be created during the construction phase with 1,000 permanent jobs when the holiday complex is complete.

“The infrastructural work will include earthworks, road and path networks, utilities and the installation of a drainage system. It’s expected that these works will commence very shortly.”
