Kilbride GAA update April 12th

Kilbride GAA
Mens Teams

Our men’s team play St Barry’s on a Sunday in Tarmonbarry at 2pm.

Our Minors played Kilglass/St Barrys on Tuesday and on Saturday they take on Western Gales in Frenchpark at 5pm.

Kilbride Under 12 Division Six team, opened their league campaign on a winning note against Roscommon Gaels on Friday evening in Kilbride. The home side got off to a good start and went in at half time 8 to 4, they played some lovely football and linked up well for scores. Kilbride continued strongly in the second half and ran out winners on a 12 to 6 score line. The team: Sean Allen, Izidro Ribas, Aidan Gormley, Jack Campbell, Cian Moran, Joshua McCormack, Sean Cooney, Conor Fannon, Elliot Greally, Aidan Carroll, Thomas Reilly & Aaron Bracken. All players put in a huge effort but with great performances from Izidro, Cian, Jack and Conor it drove them on.

The Kilbride Under 12 Division Two league team got off to a winning start in a hard fought game against a strong Elphin/Ballinameen side. Kilbride got the better of the earlier exchanges and led by 8 points to 1 at the break. The Kilbride defence excelled with exceptional displays by Izidro Ribas, Dean Mulligan, Lorcan Rudden and Noah Kelly who despite ferocious pressure only conceded one score in the first 25 minutes helped greatly by an injured Eoin McLoughlin who lined out in goals and found a Kilbride player every time. The second half saw Kilbride endure a torrid display by Elphin but ran out winners on a score line of 12 to 5. A balanced display would be the most appropriate word used to describe the Kilbride display. The midfield pairing of Karl Cummins and Ryan Dowling worked exceptionally hard as did the forward line of Jack Campbell, David Brennan, Brian Keegan and Joseph O’Connor. The introduction of Cian Moran, Conor Fannon, Joshua McCormack, Dara Kedian, Sean Cooney and Elliot Grealy who had only 18 hour earlier wore the green with distinction in the division 6 league added fresh legs to close out the encounter. Well done to all u12’s on two successful wins over the weekend.
