Boyle Celtic qualified for the FAI Junior Cup Semi-Final following a 6-5 penalty shoot-out win over Tipperary side Carrick United in Tom Drohan Park, Carrick-on-Suir.

Carrick United took the lead through Jack Doherty on the half hour mark before Mick Corrigan equalised shortly after.
Corrigan scored his second of the game in the 66th minute to put Celtic into the lead. That’s where it stood until injury time when Carrick seized on an error in the Boyle box and levelled the game.
Extra time followed but the sides could not be separated and penalties were required.
Shane Battles and Seán Purcell
Boyle Celtic scored their first three penalties through Danny Browne, Gerard McDermottroe and James Carty, while
Shane Battles and Seán Purcell had chances to win it but their shots were saved. After five penalties apiece the sides were level at 3-3 and sudden death followed. Dessie Carlos, Luka Roddy and John Connolly all scored before Kyle Suffin made the all important save for Boyle Celtic to win 6-5.

They will now face Kilkenny side Evergreen FC in the Semi-Final on the weekend of April 8th and 9th.
