Ballymoe FC defeat St Johns Athletic 5–4 on pens
The senior side progressed to the next round of the Connacht Cup after beating St. Johns in a penalty shoot-out. Keith Muldoon, Jason Tarmey, Adrian Collins, Micheal Kenny and Maurice Connaughton scored the penalties. Ballymoe trailed 2-0 with twenty minutes to go but two goals from Maurice Connaughton brought the game to extra time.
Underage Registration
The underage outdoor season will be commencing soon and in this regard an underage registration night for U.8, U.10, U.12, U.14 and U.16 will take place in the Fr. Flanagan Centre Ballymoe on Thursday, 16th February from 7pm – 9pm (during Indoor Soccer). A parent must attend with the child on the night to sign the registration form. Fee: €40 per child or €80 per family. We would like to invite anyone that is interested in helping out with our soccer teams from U8-U16 to contact any member of the committee. Help is needed for all age groups and your support would be appreciated.
Table Quiz
The senior team fundraising table quiz took place in The Grove Lounge on Friday night. A big thank you to Jackie Connaughton and The Grove Lounge for sponsoring new tops for the team and to Kevin Brogan Farm Machinery Ballymoe for sponsoring new gear bags. Thanks also to Michael Hanley for sponsoring the trophies for the quiz winners, to everyone who donated prizes for the raffle and to John Collins the MC for the night and Aoife Collins for the questions and keeping the scores. Thanks to everyone for their support as always it is greatly appreciated.
