Handball

Congratulations to Eoghan Carthy and Carragh Kennedy both won Connacht titles on Saturday.

Gaelic Games

On the Club scene the Junior A and Intermediate Football Finals ended in draws. Read our report from both games here

Elsewhere, the Roscommon Under 16 Footballers defeated Louth by 4-15 to 1-9 in the first round of the Fr Manning Cup in Drogheda on Saturday.

Rugby

Kiltoom man Jack Carty was in fine form, scoring a try and converting a number of place kicks as Connacht defeated Ulster 30 – 25 in the PRO12 on Friday night.

Creggs and Connacht Under 18 Player Danny Arnold has been called up to the Irish Under 18 squad following some fine performances in the Inter-Provincial Series.

On Saturday Roscommon’s Luke Carty, Shane Layden and Danny Qualter were among the Roscommon players in the Buccaneers side which defeated UCC 49-36 in the Ulster Bank League Division 1B. Read Michael Silke’s report here.

Ladies Gaelic Football

Kilbride Ladies were defeated by Kiltubrid in the Connacht Club Semi-Final on a scoreline of 3-11 to 5-9.

There was better news for the Padraig Pearses Ladies. They defeated Burrishoole by 1-9 to 1-7 in Connacht Club Intermediate Quarter-Final.
