John Coffey won the Kierans Pharmacy Stroke played on Sun 7th August with a great score of 67 (77 gross) cousin Shane Kelly was second with 69, David McDermott picked up a bottle of Brut for Gross also with a 77 and Benny Boyle was third with 69 (where did that come from !!)
Lady Captain Prize to Gents
The Lady Captain Noeleen Moffatt’s Prize to Gents played on Sat 13 August was won by John Crowe with 64, a score that reduced his handicap below the Cecil Ewing threshold of 16, let’s hope we can get a suitable candidate to play with him on 10 Sept in Castlebar !! Second in Lady Captains was hubby John with 67 on B9 from Brian Beirne who had a couple of sixes on way in that weren’t as damaging as the “dirty dozen” in the Captains, Brian picked up the Gross prize and Charlie Farrell was third with 68.
Fixtures
This weekend we have an 18 Hole Stableford, with play Friday 26th, Saturday 27th or Sunday 28th.
Inter Club
Following our win versus Ballaghaderreen last Monday week August 15th we play Enniscrone on Mon 29 Aug 2016 in next round.
John McCarthy Golf Classic
On the 2nd & 3rd of September Carrick-on-Shannon Golf Club are holding the John McCarthy Golf Classic. On the night of the 3rd friends of John McCarthy are hosting a Trad Music Event with an Auction & Raffle in the Bush Hotel, Carrick-on-Shannon @ 8.30pm. The weekend is being organised to raise funds for Communication Technology and a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle for John.
