A 27-year-old man with an address at Ballybride, Roscommon town became the third person to charged in relation to an alleged assault in Carrick-on-Shannon on July 17th.

Yesterday evening, at a special sitting of Carrick-on-Shannon District Court, Mark Scott was charged with Section 3 Assault – Assault Causing Harm to Mr Gerard Doolan. Mr. Doolan remains in a critical condition in Beaumont Hospital.

Judge Alan Mitchell refused bail and added that the defendant is entitled to bring an application for Bail to the High Court.

Mr Scott was remanded in custody to appear at Harristown District Court, Castlerea, on Friday morning.
