The Minister for Children & Youth Affairs Katherine Zappone will visit three projects in County Roscommon this afternoon.

Her visit will begin at the Cuan Bhride Childcare Centre, Fourmilehouse, at 3.30pm where she will meet staff and children.

The visit coincides with this morning’s announcement by Minister Zappone that from today grants of up to €10,000 will now be paid to 1,006 pre-school providers across the country. “These grants will enable them to refurbish or extend their creche. There might be some minor building operations or alterations, and also, there could be proper play equipment, like toys, etc. These are the kinds of the things that child care providers have asked for and we’re delighted that we can provide this today.”

After visiting Fourmilehouse the Minister will then travel to Vita House, Abbey Street, Roscommon Town, where she will learn about the important work and services being offered for young people.

Finally she will visit The Quad Youth Centre to view the excellent facilities that are made available for young people throughout the area.
