Congratulations

The club extends its congratulations to Seanie MacDermott who made his 150th appearance in a Roscommon Jersey on Sunday last. A fantastic personal achievement for Seanie who has given a large part of his life to his club and county and Western Gaels are extremely proud to call him as one our club men.

Congrats to our County team who defeated Leitrim on Sunday afternoon last and to our club reps Seanie Mac and Cathal Cregg.

Ladies Football

Adult Ladies Team:
The Kilrane O’Callaghan & Co. sponsored adult ladies team defeated Strokestown in round 4 of the league on Friday evening last, final score Western Gaels 2-11 Strokestown 1-08. The girls are back inaction this Sunday when they welcome St. Brigid’s to Frenchpark on Sunday morning next. Check Fixtures for confirmed details.

U-14 Ladies Team:
The U-14 ladies team lost out to St. Dominics on Wednesday evening last in round 2 of the league. On Wednesday evening next the girls play Shannon Gaels in Frenchpark. Check fixtures for confirmed details.

U-12 Ladies Team:
The U-12 girls team lost out to St. Barry’s in round 2 of the championship. They play Oran next Sunday evening in Oran. Check fixtures for confirmed details.

Gaelic For Mothers:
Western Gaels Gaelic4Mothers & Others training has resumed for its 6th year. It’s a great way of meeting new friends & a fun way of keeping fit in a non-competitive environment. Men’s Football

Junior Team:
The Junior team recorded another fine win in the Division 3 Tansey Cup on Saturday evening last against Shannon Gaels in Croghan. In a tightly contested game throughout Western Gaels managed to pull 3pts ahead entering the closing stages and despite Shannon Gaels narrowing the deficit to a single pt entering injury time John Duffy popped up at the end of a brilliant team move to kick a great point and secure the points. Final Scoreline: Western Gaels 0-14 Shannon Gaels 0-12.

The U 12 Team drew with Clann na Gael in the last round of the Spring League on Friday evening last which has qualified us for a semi final play off in a few weeks time.
