Club Rossie Draw

The Annual Club Rossie Membership draw takes place on May 14th next so tickets are on sale now from all our club executive. We have our sales Quota to meet again this year so we are looking for our members continued support over the next few weeks to esnure we meet our quota. Tickets cam also be purchased online on www.clubrossie.ie

Ladies Football

U-16 Team:
Pride of place this week goes to the ladies U-16 team who captured the first tittle of the year. The Girls travelled to Fuerty to take on Kilbride in the Division 3 championship final. The team started well but scores were hard found, the team fought hard and lead by 3 points at the break. A early goal from Kilbride in the second half levelled the sides. The team bug deep and worked hard all over the field and to get the vital goal to push them back in front. A stronger closing quarter ensured the team pushed on and secured the win. Final score Western Gaels 3-11 Kilbride 3-04.
This was a very hard fought win with both teams been very evenly matched, with great skill by all on display. The club would like to thank all the players, management team of James, Dermot and Phil and sponsors for their support and hard work during the campaign.

Ladies County Team:
Congratulations to our Intermediate Ladies County Team who defeated Sligo on a final scoreline of 1-15 to 2-06 in the Connacht Championship 1st round on Sunday afternoon last and to our club reps Siobhan Greevy, Jenny Higgins and Martina Freyne.

Senior Team:
Western Gaels V Elphin
A strong 2nd half display by Western Gaels ensured we secured a draw against Elphin in the Div 1 league on Sunday afternoon last. See Match report inside.

Minor Team:
The Michael Cooney & Sons Ltd sponsored minor team travelled to Oran on Friday evening last for the final league game. The team started well but Oran got a few good scores to take the lead. They proved the stronger team on the day and ran out comfortable winner. They play Oran in the Semi final on Friday evening next. Please check fixtures for confirmed details.

U-16 Team:
The Michael Cooney & Sons sponsored u-16 team lost out to St. Brigids in the Knock out stages of the league. The game was in the balance right up until the closing stages, but St. Brigids finished the stronger to secure the win and progress.

U-14 Team:
The Drury Oils Ltd sponsored U-14 team play Tulsk in the league on Thursday evening at 7pm in Frenchpark.

U-12 Team:
The U 12 Team continued their winning ways in the Spring league with a comfortable win against Shannon Gaels on Saturday morning last. Final Scoreline: Western Gaels 2-16 Shannon Gaels 0-08.

Roscommon Senior Team:
Best wishes to our Senior team on their travels to New York next week and hoping that all our supporters making the journey enjoy their trip. Safe travels to all.
