Some brief stories which you may have missed today:
Gaelic Football
Details of the Allianz Football League Semi-Finals were confirmed this afternoon. The games will form a Double header in Croke Park on Sunday with Roscommon versus Kerry throwing in at 2pm followed by Dublin versus Donegal at 4pm. Both games will be shown live on TG4.
Hurling
No venue has been confirmed for Saturday’s Allianz Hurling League Promotion / Relegation play-off between Roscommon and Donegal although the game has been scheduled to throw in at 5pm.
Connacht Rugby
Connacht Rugby confirmed that Fionn Carr, Jason Harris-Wright, AJ MacGinty (who has signed for Sale Sharks), Aly Muldowney, George Naoupu, Api Pewhairangi and Ian Porter will be leaving the province at the end of the current season.
Commenting, head coach Pat Lam said: “It’s always a difficult time of year when we have to make decisions about the future makeup of the squad. Within professional rugby, every team sees changes in their squad from one season to the next. What we have achieved so far this season, and what remains to be achieved, has come on the back of the hard work of every single player in this current squad. I know everyone is committed and excited to finish the 2015/16 season together on a massive high. We recognise and value the contribution these men have made to Connacht Rugby and we will celebrate it together with our supporters at the end of the season.”
