Storm Gertrude leaves her mark

The impact of Storm Gertrude is being felt in some areas of the county today.

6:00pm – ESB Networks have resolved all power outages in Roscommon. 18 homes in Arigna were the last to be re-connected.

2:00pm – The Status Yellow Storm Gertrude warning for Roscommon is over but has been replaced by an overnight Snow and Ice Warning. That warning will remain in place until 12pm tomorrow.

1:00pm – ESB Networks have resolved the majority of power outages in County Roscommon with only 21 customers in the Castlerea area and 18 in Arigna still affected. It is estimated that Castlerea will be restored by 5pm however the Arigna residents may have a longer wait.

10:30am – Roscommon County Council have removed the tree from the Athleague – Ballinasloe Road at Dysart.

10:00am – The power outage in the Boyle area is a planned interruption and residents were notified of the disruption last week. Their service will be restored no later than 4pm.

8:30am – Debris / branches on the N61 Roscommon – Athlone Road. Drive with caution.

8:00am – ESB Networks’ Crews are dealing with two major power outages.

  • 220 users in the Roscommon town area have been without power since approximately 6am and it is estimated that service will be restored by 3pm.
  • 444 users in the Castlerea area have been without power since approximately 9am and as yet there is no estimated restore time.
  • 18 users in the Arigna area may have to wait until 8pm to be reconnected.
  • ESB Networks are reminding people to call 1850 372999 if they see a fallen wire or poll and to avoid going near such objects.

    6:30am – A Tree has fallen on the Athleague – Ballinasloe Road; 1.5km from Dysart on Athleague side.
